At age 71, Ed passed on June 28, 2020 in Rochester, NY. He was born on April 20, 1949 to the late Edward J. and Cora (Schaurer) O’Donovan. Survived by sons; Bryan (Shanna) O’Donovan of Avon and Jeffrey O’Donovan of Rochester; grandchildren, Jocee, Emma, and Ashton; many other loving family & friends, and his cat Salem.
Ed graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in Rochester, NY and later joined the US Army. His time in the service included being a Drill Sergeant and Airborne Paratrooper stationed in Fort Benning, GA. During his life, his family and grandchildren were always very important to him and he enjoyed the time spent with them. Ed was a certified pilot and always loved to fly airplanes. He retired after many years of working in property management in the Rochester area. He was a people person and liked to help others.
A private graveside service will be held at Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Veterans Outreach Center, 447 South Avenue, Rochester, NY 14620.
