AVON — An attempted mid-day robbery in the Village of Avon has resulted in multiple police check points and the school going into a temporary ‘Lock Out’ security measure.
The Avon Central School District is blocks away from where the alleged robbery took place.
“We went into a ‘Lock Out’ after the school resource officer was called to handle a robbery in the area,” said Bruce Amey, Avon School District Superintendent. “In a ‘Lock Out” all exterior doors secured, we continue inside activities but stop all outside activites.”
According to Amey parents were notified with an email and the ‘Lock Out’ was lifted shortly after 2 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing and the GeneseeSun.com will continue to update as officials release details on the robbery.
