LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A severe thunderstorm watch is currently in effect for Livingston County.
According to a weather advisory from the National Weather Service, a broken line of thunderstorms is expected to develop along and ahead of a cold front late Saturday across the upper Ohio valley and reach western New York early Saturday evening. The watch will end at 10 p.m.
The storms are expected to then spread east across the Genesee Valley and western Finger Lakes by mid to late evening, reaching eastern Lake Ontario by the early overnight.
There is a slight risk that some of these storms may become severe, with the primary risk being damaging winds. Some of these storms may also produce very heavy rainfall locally which may result in isolated flooding.
