Lance Riley, 38, who was just sentenced to 10-years in Wyoming County for rape with the same girl has now pled guilty to felony Rape in the 2nd Degree and felony Criminal Sexual Act in the 3rd degree. Riley will now serve 20 years in State Prison.
“Lance Riley is a dangerous predator who preyed upon his victim and took her innocence. There is no place in society for a person as evil as Lance Riley,” stated Justin Hill, Livingston County Assistant District Attorney. “The victim’s bravery throughout this case and the courage she showed in facing this predator played a major role in putting him behind bars for the next 20 years. The message is out in Livingston County that if you hurt a child you are going to pay the price.”
On Monday, a Livingston County Jury was selected and today opening statements were made. As victim testimony was just about to start, Riley’s defense attorney Michael Stivers, informed the court of his clients decision to change his plea.
New York State Police arrested Riley in June of last year.
Under the agreed upon terms Livingston County Court Judge Robert Wiggins will sentence Riley to the Livingston County 10-year sentence plus 28-years of post-release supervision.
