In several hotly contested races in the Town of Richmond, Honeoye, NY, the unofficial results posted on the Ontario County Board of Elections page list Darryl Marshall, presently a Republican town councilman, winning the Supervisor’s post, defeating Democratic incumbent Caroline Sauers. However, the results are unofficial, and absentee ballots have yet to be counted at this press time.
Unofficial results so far are Marshall (REP) with 473 votes (42.54%), and incumbent Caroline Sauers (DEM) with 456 votes (41.01%) Third place in the election for Supervisor is Randy Walker (RIC) with 183 votes (16.46%).
Republican Steve Barnhoorn was re-elected to one of the two open councilman seats on the Richmond town board with 801 votes. Republican David Baker received 720 votes for the councilman position, and challenger Democratic candidate Liz Yockel came in third with 409 votes.
Linda Grace, who ran unopposed for town clerk, was re-elected, as was Tom Fleig, for highway superintendent. Glenn Schrieber was elected town justice.
