LIVINGSTON COUNTY — The GeneseeSun.com will be hosting a Livingston County Republican candidates Sheriffs debate between Undersheriff Jim Szczesniak and Investigator Thomas Dougherty on August 29th at the Geneseo Central School Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
The event, sponsored by the law firm of Kruk and Campbell, will be moderated by Josh Williams from the GeneseeSun.com and Joe Lasky, from WYSL. There will be two live broadcasts of the event. For those that would like to watch, they can go to the GeneseeSun.com; those that would like to listen on the radio can tune into WYSL 1040 AM.
Additionally, both candidates are participating in an individual question and answer segment that will be aired on WYSL on August 17 between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m., and on August 18th between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. and again from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In the format for the debate, 16 questions will be available, 14 of which will be answered in a random selection. 3 minutes are allotted for opening statements, with the sequence to be determined by a coin toss and then reversed for closing statements, also 3 minutes long. There will be 3 minutes allowed for respose to a question, with 2:30 for a rebuttal. The sequence for responding to questions will be determined by a second coin toss.
