According to a press release from Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, Kathleen McDonald, 64, and Kristin McDonald, 35, were both charged with misdemeanor Petit Larceny.
Police allege that the pair took the items from the store on Volunteer Drive and got in their car to drive away, but not before Walmart employees spotted them and gave a description of their vehicle to police.
A Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy stopped the car on Lima Road nearby while responding to the call.
It is alleged that the pair stole $111.37 in merchandise, specifically food items and four pairs of jeans.
Both were released to appear in Geneseo Village Court at a later date.
