YOUTH FOOTBALL: Red Raiders slip by Mustangs 42-28

DANSVILLE — On a beautiful sunny day, the Cal-Mum Red Raiders CYFL senior team defeated the Dansville Mustangs 42-28 at Babcock Park.

The Red Raiders jumped out to an early lead, scoring on their first two possessions. Touchdown runs by Kyle Raniewicz and Bubba Leach put Cal-Mum up 14-0.

“It was a really fun game,” said Leach, who led the Red Raiders with three rushing touchdowns and also returned an interception for a score. “We played well.”

The early lead would turn into momentum, as Cal-Mum scored four more times and managed to hold off a late rally by the Mustangs.

“It was a good game, both teams played hard and hopefully the kids had fun,” said coach Gary O’Donoghue.

The junior Red Raiders defeated the junior Mustangs 30-8 earlier in the day, led by a strong defensive game.

The Red Raiders play Warsaw next Sunday at home, while the Mustangs have a bye week.
