Dear Robert, (Letter To The Publisher)
When we are baptized, we are brought to a sacred place, a church, and baptized into the mystery of Christ’s death and resurrection – thus giving us the promise of eternal life. When one of our loved ones die, we take them to another sacred place, a cemetery, for burial in sacred ground while they await the resurrection of the dead and the promise of eternal life.
With that being said, the family also paid for the burial space at the cemetery which includes perpetual care of grounds and other things in the cemetery including keeping the trees trimmed from any dead or hanging limbs, lawn mowed , safe access into the cemetery year round.
This is not happening at Saint Agnes Catholic Cemetery which sits on 4 1/2 acres in Avon, New York. Father Micheal Fowler, the cemetery community and the Diocese of Rochester has known about this major issue sense 2016 and they are still not going into the cemetery to correct this matter. Just about every tree has a dangerous branches or limbs ready to fall at anytime also
many burial and Father Micheal Fowler has refused to correct the problem.
Yes, I’ve been continuing contact over the past four years and again this on August 17 with Dan Pohorence, Director of Parish and Regional Cemeteries, Risk Manager Diocese of Rochester with just major lip service back from him stating they are aware of the problems at this cemetery and just waiting back from Father Fowler.
Our loved ones can’t speak from the grave, so the living has to fight for what is right and for the safety and up keeping that once was a beautiful cemetery.
We all want to go to a safe and beautiful place and pay our respects to our loved ones and friends.
