GENESEO – The annual Pumpkin Hunt and raffle will return to Geneseo businesses from Wednesday, Sept. 21 through Saturday, Sept. 24.
In order to participate, passport cards will be provided that list pumpkin locations. Participants will have to collect stamps at each location.
With enough stamps, participants will be eligible to enter the raffle taking place on Saturday the 24th at 4 p.m. Those who visit every pumpkin on the passport card will receive additional entries in the raffle.
Before submitting a passport card, participants also vote on their favorite pumpkin by writing the name of the business that created it. The business that collects the most votes will receive a certificate as well as a feature in Geneseo LIFE.
Businesses interested in participating must decorate a pumpkin and have it on display by the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 21. They must also make a 20 dollar donation toward the grand prize raffle. Additionally, businesses are encouraged to promote the Pumpkin Hunt on social media.
The Pumpkin Hunt also coincides with the Association for the Preservation of Geneseo’s Wingfest, which will run from Noon to 4 p.m. on Sept. 24 and feature a valley-wide ‘best wing’ contest, wing-eating competition, beer tent, live music, face painting, and of course the famous pumpkin races down Bank Street.
