A Pro Mod ‘Summer Shootout’ event will join the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints, NY6A Sprints, and Street Stocks at Freedom Motorsports Park on Friday, July 16th.
The event, sponsored by Bellinger Electric and Close Racing Supply, posts a $1,500 payday to the winner of the night’s feature event. “We added the Pro Mod class as a regular feature of the 2021 season and they’ve responded with solid support, so when we were offered the opportunity, we jumped at the chance to have a special event for the class,” said Freedom’s Bob Reis.
The Pro Mod ‘Summer Shootout’ will be a part of one of the biggest races of the year at Freedom, with the annual visit from the 360 Sprint cars of the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints being a top draw at the 1/3 mile clay oval. As in previous years, keeping with the ‘wings and open wheels’ theme, the NY6A Sprints, a 600cc Sprint class, will join the show. The popular ‘Match Race’ event featuring 360 Sprint drivers in NY6A cars will also be presented.
Freedom’s exciting Street Stock division will also join the July 16th program. The division has had 3 different winners in the 2021 season so far, and the most recent event on June 25th was a barn burner, will Bill Taylor and Tom Kemp battling side by side for the feature win over the final few laps. Former winner Joe Chamberlin will also be looking to get back to his winning ways after mechanical issues sidelined him in the June 25th feature.
Pit gates will open on July 16th at 5:00 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30 p.m.
