AVON – The New York State Police arrested a Livonia resident on a misdemeanor marijuana charge from a ‘road check’ on Rte. 15.
According to a press release from NYS Police Troop E Commander Major Rick Allen, Brian Oneil, 46, was arrested for misdemeanor Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the Fifth Degree.
At 4:08 p.m. on May 30, a Toyota Prius was stopped due to an expired inspection from the ‘road check’ on 15.
The operator was identified as Oneil. Investigating Troopers allege that they smelled marijuana in the vehicle, which led to a search of the car.
Troopers found two clear plastic bags containing a total of approximately 55 grams of what is believed to be marijuana.
Oneil was arrested and scheduled to appear in Avon Town Court at a later date to face the charge.
