AVON – Beloved Superintendent of Avon Central Schools Bruce Amey has announced his retirement from his long-held position, and will be working closely with Avon Primary Principal Rob Lupisella as the school district transitions into its new leadership.
Principal Lupisella says that he looks forward to continuing his work with colleagues in Avon Central’s administration in his new role, which he will formally assume October 9, and appreciates the chance to work alongside Superintendent Amey as he prepares to leave office.
“What’s wonderful is that we will have five months side by side, working together,” said Principal Lupisella. “The best decision I’ve made in my career was coming to Avon Central School. We have the most wonderful staff and a dedicated administration. I am thrilled to continue working with them.”
Principal Lupisella said that not only have the administration and staff at Avon Central gone above and beyond their duties as professionals and in their servitude for students, but have also seen the district through some tough times for education.
“Several challenges have arisen during the current school board’s time, and we all appreciate that they saw us through and continue to do so,” said Principal Lupisella. “We have seen some tough times in education lately, including of course Common Core and difficult economic pressures overall. We are very fortunate to have them.”
