MUMFORD – The Genesee Country Village Museum will be sharing historical arts and crafts and opening their gallery for their new exhibit, which explores fishing as an American pastime.
According to a press release from the Genesee Country Village and Muserum, Prepare for the Holidays the 19th Century Way, create crafts at the Christmas Program, enjoy a breakfast with St. Nicholas, or visit the John L. Wehle Galley Open this November.
Preparing for the Holidays the 19th Century Way and the Craft Making Christmas Program will be Saturday, Nov. 21 . You can join the Holiday fun of food tastings, mold making, sausage stuffing, meat smoking, candle making, wool spinning, and Victorian gift and craft making. Crafts for the Christmas Program include pine cone Christmas trees, Christmas lanterns, wine glass paper Christmas trees, glass ornaments, and fabric ball ornaments.
Crafts at the Christmas program are $5 each or 5 for $20. The Flint Hill Gift Shop will be having their one-day sale.
Enjoy the children’s breakfast with St. Nicholas on Saturday, Nov. 29. Take a picture with an authentic 19th-century Saint Nick and share a hot meal with him on this brisk morning. Reservations are required for Breakfast with St. Nicholas and additional fees apply.
The John L. Wehle Galley Open will be open for visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Walk through the state-of-the-art galleries and view the different textiles pieces from the collection on display as well as the museum’s artwork that focuses on fishing as an American pastime. In addition, visitors may opt to decorate a bandbox, a very popular Victorian trinket holder, for $3.
Admissions for adults are $10 and museum members and children 18 years and under are free.
