POLL: Glitch in Poll Triggers Facebook Mayhem, New Poll Released

SUNROOM — What started out as effort to take the pulse of region in a new online poll feature quickly turned into social media mayhem as readers voted repeatedly in a ratings poll of Livingston County leaders conducted by the GeneseeSun.com.

Hundreds of votes were cast when suspicion arose over a massive surge in votes for one of the four people skyrocketed.

“We implemented new security measures to make it more difficult for people to pad statistics in one direction or the other,” said Josh Williams, Publisher of the GeneseeSun.com. “The purpose of the poll is to get a sense of the sentiments of the community collectively.”

Voting for the Livingston County leadership poll will close Friday @ 9 a.m. Shortly after that the results will be released.
