Bronson Hill Rd., in both the town of Livonia and Avon, running between Rts. 5 & 20 and 20A, is scheduled for rehabilitation and paving this summer, with the goal of improving pavement, drainage, and road shoulders for safer pedestrian access.
The 66-foot (4-rod) road will not be widened, but some minor easement purchases had to be made, particularly in the areas where culverts will be enlarged. Up to ten property acquisitions, primarily permanent easements with one temporary easement for construction access, are anticipated. These impacts would be associated with extending roadway cross culverts to improve roadside safety. Federal funding will take care of the purchase, and landowners will be contacted before work is done.
Except for one short term closure, the road will remain open between Rt. 20A and 5 & 20. The short-term closure and 4-minute detour would only occur as culverts south of Stone Hill Rd. are replaced.
