LIMA – A Lima man allegedly broke a Lima Town Hall window after arriving to pay his taxes and discovered the offices to be closed.

According to Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, David Brown, 62, was charged with felony Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, for causing over $250 in damage to the Lima Town Hall door window.
The Sheriff alleges Brown admitted he became frustrated when the Town Hall was closed and broke the glass. The Sheriff also alleges that there was a past conflict between Brown and the Town Highway Department.
Brown was later arraigned in the Town of Livonia Court before Judge Linsner and held on $500 cash or $1,000 bond on the matter per the recommendation of the :Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
Handling the investigation for the Sheriff’s Office was Sheriff’s Investigator Gene Chichester, Deputy Bill Cartwright, and Deputy Dave Richardson (FIU).
