GENESEO – Enjoy the GeneseeSun.com’s photos from the National Warplane Museum’s 2016 airshow. Mist covered the field early Sunday morning, which was beautiful but made pre-airshow flying extra challenging. By airshow time, the weather cleared and pilots were ready to go.
The show included nearly two dozen acts from across the country, including aerobatics by four-time US National Aerobatic Champion Rob Holland, and by the F4U4 Corsair, P-51 Mustang, MiG-17F, and L-39 Albatross.
The Warplane Museum’s own C-47 ‘Whiskey 7’ was of course a centerpiece, and the B-17 ‘Movie Memphis Belle.’ The Belle returned to the Museum in February after a four-year tour.
Other historic aircraft on the flight field were the Curtiss C-46 Commando ‘Tinker Belle,’ B-25 ‘Panchito,’ Boeing Pt 13D Stearman, and DeHavilland DH.82c Tiger Moth.
