MOUNT MORRIS- The Canyon Camera Club will host the Twelfth Annual Photographer’s Dream Day on Saturday, June 28 from 9am to 3pm at the Mt. Morris Dam Visitor Center south of Mt.Morris off of Rt. 408.
The Camera Club invites photographers of all skill levels to enjoy photography demonstrations, a nature walk guided by Irene Szabo from the Finger Lakes Trail Conference, and two seminars by photography experts from Rochester.
“All ages are welcome,” said Joan Schumaker, President of the Canyon Camera Club. “There will be professional photographers and point-and-shooters alike.”
The first seminar, “Photographic Seeing: An Approach to Maximizing Your Creative Message,” by former Kodak Ambassador Gordon Brown, will be held at 10:30am. It will be a beginner to intermediate level talk on Brown’s creative process when it comes to taking especially expressive photos.
The second seminar, by Rochester Landscape Photographer Sheridan Vincent, will address “Is HDR Necessary? and Other Questions” at 2 PM. This more advanced program reviews and assesses new technology that has become available to photographers in recent years.
The day will also include a dance and picnic by the Amherst Museum’s Victorian Dance Society, a birds of prey demonstration by raptor handler Paul Fehringer of Wild Spirit Education, and a nature walk along a section of the Finger Lakes Trail, starting at the Visitor Center.
At 11am, 12:30pm and 2:00pm, Park Ranger Staff will guide photo walks to the top of the Dam, though for security purposes picture taking will not be allowed inside the Dam itself.
