The new subscription site was launched last week, and the paywall was released Wednesday. The affordable price points are $3.99 for a day pass, $5.99/monthly, $19.99/quarterly, or $39.99/year. The pay wall starts after the viewer is online for 60 seconds.
“With this move we are saying that the content, combined with the video streaming services of local community events and sports has a value to our community,” said Josh Williams, Publisher of the GeneseeSun.com. “We are always looking at new technology and expanding our coverage area, this minimal subscription fee will facilitate the increase in the quality of our production capabilities as well as expand our coverage area.”
The new website, released this past week offers improved photo slideshow as well as an enhanced Sun TV section for live streaming events and multi-media stories.
“In the news business the moment we stop looking at innovative ways we can utilize technology to help our growth then we are dead in the water,” said Williams. “Livingston County has never seen news and sports being delivered so quickly and without an agenda, I’m truly proud of our progress to this point but at the same time, I’m aware of the improvements that need to be made.”
