GENESEO – The weekend’s big downtown push brought longtime residents and college students’ families to Main Street to enjoy tasty treats.
Businesses had platters of fine chocolates for visitors, with discounts and specials.
Since it was also siblings weekend at SUNY Geneseo, the College purchased 200 tickets to include in siblings weekend packages.
Some chocolates have a history on Main Street. Two years ago, Five North Chocolate, founded by then-SUNY Geneseo student Ben Conrad, sold its very first chocolates at Touch of Grayce, where they were out again for Chocofrolic.
The goal was to get potential shoppers moving in and around storefronts they might not have seen before to get specialty treats and in-store sales.
The event as always is organized by Geneseo Community Main Street, the association of downtown merchants in Geneseo.
