LIVONIA – The first ever arts and crafts event for the Chip Holt Nature Center at Vitale Park will breathe new life into old recycling.
Up to 30 participants can create their Halloween or fall crafts with recycled or repurposed materials gathered at the Nature Center. Many locals are pitching in to gather the materials for the crafting on Oct. 27 from 7 to 8 p.m.
“Some of the wood came from Smith Lumber in Lakeville, I personally had some of the wood, friends and co-workers donated the jars, the yarn and other string were left over from projects at my home,” said Linda Artruc with the Chip Holt Nature Center. “The items from nature include acorn caps and sticks from our yard.”
This is the Nature Center’s first crafting event dedicated only to using recycled materials.
The Nature Center says that crafts suitable for ages 10 to adult. A $5 donation is encouraged but not required for participation.
