GENESEO — A SUNY Geneseo student was assaulted at an off campus party by an on out of town non-student.
According to Geneseo Police there was a serious fight over the weekend in which one person was hospitalized.
“Students need to be careful of who they are letting in at these off campus parties,” said Eric Osganian, Geneseo Police Chief. “I get it, students want to go out and have fun, but we want them to be as safe as possible. Letting strangers into a party is never a good idea.”
Chief Osganian stated that with the warmer weather his department sees a great increase in calls and anticipates a busy upcoming weekend.
“With a late winter and finals coming up it’s going to be a hectic weekend. We are going to be out ensuring safety and maintaining quality of life for the community as much as possible,” said Osganian. “Students need to look after each other and be smart.”
