On April 10, 2019, at approximately 10:16 p.m., a Trooper based out of SP Rochester attempted to stop a 2019 Toyota on I-490 westbound in the town of Riga for speeding. The vehicle was traveling 88 miles per hour in a 65 mile per hour speed zone. As the Trooper activated the emergency lights on his patrol vehicle, the suspect vehicle accelerated away. The operator of the vehicle exited I-490 at Exit 3 and continued northbound on State Route 36, and then traveled down a railroad access road. The vehicle stopped and the operator and two passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot. A perimeter was established, and a State Police K9 unit and helicopter assisted with the search. The K9 unit was able to track and locate the operator hiding behind a large air conditioner unit. The passengers were also located nearby. All three were returned to SP Rochester for processing and remanded to the Monroe County jail. Arrested were:

Deshawn T Bice, a 22-year old city resident, charged with DWI, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer 3rd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Reckless Endangerment and several vehicle and traffic infractions.
Alaina M Redden, a 23-year old Greece resident, charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.
Corin Sosa, a 20-year old city of Rochester resident, charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree.
