NYLON – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office announced that three Genesee Community College (GCC) students were among this year’s recipients of the New York State Sheriff’s Association (NYSSA) annual $250 scholarships.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, NYSSA awards deserving students enrolled in criminal justice, police science or similar program in each of the State’s community colleges and at SUNY Canton.
Genesee County Sheriff Gary Maha and Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty presented the following GCC students with scholarships:
Justine M. Reed of GCC’s Batavia campus; Carrington E. Wells of the Lima campus; and Stuart A. Sousa of the Dansville campus.
Maha and Dougherty presented each student was presented with a $250 check to be used to further their criminal justice education, along with a scholarship certificate from the NYSSA Institute.
