NYS Health Department Going To Mandate Testing Everyone In Every Nursing Home

 

NYS Department of Health “is going to begin universal testing at ALL nursing homes and adult care facilities,” Jack Wheeler, Steuben County’s Manager said.

Wheeler wrote to Assemblywoman Marjorie Byrnes saying  “I can’t help but think ALL of our efforts helped push this.”

In an interview with Ms. Byrnes and then with Mr. Wheeler the term “all” included “State Senator Tom O’Mara, Assemblyman Phil Pallesano, and at least 15 other local leaders,” Ms. Byrnes indicated.

Mr. Wheeler told the Genesee Sun that “They (State Health) want to partner with counties to conduct the testing with our staff or volunteers.”

“They will give kits, PPE, and pay for labs,” he said.
