DANSVILLE – Babies born at Noyes Memorial Hospital are receiving warm, safety approved sleepwear courtesy of the Geneseo Kiwanis Club.
The Kiwanis Club provided hats, onesies, blankets and sleep sacks to the hospital’s birthing center. The 230 hand-knitted hats, 27 onesies, and 23 blankets were presented to DeNae Gibson, Nursing Coordinator for Obstetrics.
“We are so thrilled that the Kiwanis Club would donate so many items to the Noyes Birthing Center,” expressed Birthing Center Nurse Manager, Denae Gibson. “It is great to be able to show moms what is safe for their newborn, making it that much more meaningful and memorable for mothers.”
The items were all approved by the New York State Safe Sleep Program, which gives safety guidelines for baby sleepwear to reduce infant mortality.
Kiwanis of Geneseo is grateful to the community volunteers who spent many hours, and those who donated the materials, that made this effort possible.
