LIVONIA – No charges have been filed in the ongoing investigation into a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Big Tree Road Thursday night.
According to a press release from Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, the preliminary investigation says that Michael West, 57, was in the roadway attempting to stop traffic in order for a boat to be backed into a driveway when a vehicle heading westbound on Big Tree Road struck him at about 7:45 p.m.

Cynthia Wagner, 39, was driving the vehicle. No charges have been filed against Wagner for the incident.
Several units from the Sheriff’s Office, Lakeville Fire Department, Livonia Fire Department, Hemlock Fire Department, Livonia Ambulance, and Avon ALS responded to the scene.
An ambulance transported West to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Investigating the incident for the Sheriff’s Office was Sergeant Joseph Breu, Deputy Michael Williams (FIU), Sheriff’s Investigator Jeff Wiedrick and Captain Brian Applin.
