Avon — If you missed the last cleanup day in the Town of Avon the next is set for September 8th from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
The event will beat the Avon Town Highway Department on 5390 Agar Road, Avon, New York.
No permit is required, there will be a sign-in sheet where participants will show proof of residence, and participants are limited to only one pickup truckload per month.
Dump Day fees for tires range from motorcycle tires at $3.00 to tractor tires at $40.00 with a limit of 10 tires.
Items that are not permitted for pick-up are: Contractors’ debris, weekly garbage & recyclables, gas, oil, cement, propane tanks, flammable objects, froon products, ammunition, paint, yard and tree clippings, 55 gal. or other type drums and wire.
All pick-up items need to be at the curb or end of the driveway by 9 a.m. the Friday before Dump Days.
If a participant is a senior citizen or medically disabled and would like to take advantage of these services but need physical assistance, they can call the Town Office at 226-2425, ext. 19 for pickup service.
