New York State to Commit $600 Million To Buffalo Bills Stadium, Erie County $250 million

 

The new Buffalo Bills stadium, scheduled to break ground this Spring has an estimated price tag on it of about $1.4 billion dollars, with about $850 million coming from taxpayers.  $600 million has been allocated from the New York state budget, and Erie County will also contribute $250 million. The NFL and the Bills franchise will contribute $550 million towards the new stadium.

The money appropriated by the state comes with strings attached, however. Not only will the state own the stadium, but there is also an agreement that the Bills will remain at the stadium at least 30 years.

Construction of the new stadium is expected to start this Spring.
