GENESEO – It is a pleasure to announce that the highly regarded Genesee Sun, the breaking news leader in Livingston County, has been sold by founder Josh Williams. The new owner, Robert A. DeLena, CFP, is the publisher of Lake Country Echo which is the fastest growing paid circulation print publication in Livingston County.

Williams, who started the paper in 2011, sold the paper due to a number of professional and personal commitments including his duties as a Reservist in the Air Force.
“The Sun has outgrown what I am able to deliver on my own,” Williams said. “I felt Robert would maintain that quality and eventually add more value for our readers,” he continued.
Since The Sun’s inception, DeLena has helped behind the scenes. “Josh and I have always been
friends and he will continue to regularly contribute to The Sun.” DeLena said. “I believe the biggest benefactors of our joining the two publications together will be the readers,” he added.
“Readers can expect both a larger variety of content as well as more content,” he said, once we get rolling. “I have a lot to learn so give me a month but I promise you are going to be better informed and entertained by reading the Sun”
“The mission of this paper will be the same as that of Lake Country Echo’s.” he said, “That is simply to have fun and do good.”
DeLena has taken LCE from less than 300 paid subscribers to what will soon be the largest paid
circulation in Livingston County. For example, the number of the paper’s paid subscribers has
increased by over 100 in each of the past three months. “That is an amazing amount of growth for a print community paper,” he said. Both DeLena and Williams have been involved
with writing for most of their adult lives. “I am sad to leave but I am equally excited to see what Robert can do with The Sun.” Mr. Williams said. “I am excited to see how we can combine the resources of these two companies to enhance both the entertainment and information value to our audience,” DeLena concluded.
