AVON — A new part time officer was named for the Village of Avon, Travis McFadden.
The Village board welcomed McFadden as the new part time officer for the Avon Village Police Department at Monday’s board meeting.
“I look forward to giving back to the community that I grew up in,” said McFadden.
McFadden came highly recommended by Avon’s current Interim Police Chief, Gary Benedict.
“I know all of the streets, and I know all of the programs and tracks,” said McFadden.
McFadden has been a police officer since March of 2010.
“We wanted you to come to our meeting so that we could personally welcome you aboard,” said Tom Freeman, Mayor for the Village of Avon.
With both a recently new Interim Chief of Police and now a new part time officer it seems as though there is a new era on the rise for the Village of Avon.
