At age 83, Joyce P. Sciarrino passed peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at her home. She was born on May 24, 1937 in Batavia, NY to the late Walter and Dorothy (Lightfoot) Pestlin. Joyce was also predeceased by her husband, Raymond L. Sciarrino Esq. and her sister Janet Pestlin. Survived by three children; Dawn of Nashville, TN, Raymond Paul (Barbara) of Leicester, NY and Scott (Lisa) of Winchester, VA; grandchildren, Taylor, Elizabeth, Andrew, Connor, Rachel, Brooke and Ryan; brother Norman (Sharon) Pestlin and many loving nieces and nephews.
Before meeting her husband of 56 years, Ray, Joyce was a dental assistant in Rochester. Raising her three children, Joyce was involved in the community as a 4-H leader, an active member of the Mt. Morris Central School Parent Teacher Student Association and all-round helper for chorus, theater and sports at the school. Later in life, Joyce enjoyed cooking, gardening, visiting her children and grandchildren and traveling. At her beloved home on Conesus Lake, Joyce enjoyed hosting multitudes of family and friends for many gatherings, particularly the 3rd of July for the Ring of Fire.
A graveside service for Joyce will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 5th, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Mt. Morris, NY. Guidelines regarding masks and social distancing will be followed. Due to Covid-19 there will be no reception or gathering held. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Livingston County, 34 E. State Street, Mt. Morris, NY 14510.
