GENESEO – The Geneseo Police Department arrested a Mount Morris man for the theft of a stereo and air conditioner from Walmart that occurred in April, one week before he was arrested on felony drug charges by the Livingston County Drug Task Force.
According to a press release from Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, Anthony Velazquez, 28, was arrested for misdemeanor Petit Larceny for taking the items, valued at $258.
Officer Raymond Goulet arrested Velasquez for allegedly loading up with the items and fleeing the store.
On May 3, the Livingston County Drug Task Force arrested Velasquez for felony Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and felony Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree for allegedly selling crack cocaine. He is already held at the Livingston County Jail on $10,000 cash bail on those charges.
Geneseo Village Justice Thomas Bushnell arraigned Velasquez for the new Petit Larceny charges and remanded him to the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $250 cash or $500 bond.
