AVON – A motorcyclist was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after he was involved in an accident Thursday morning.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, at 6 a.m. the Livingston County E-911 center received a call regarding a motorcycle accident with the operator down in the roadway in the area of the Exit 9 Mobile Mart in the Town of Avon.
While investigating the incident, it was learned that the motorcyclist was traveling in a northbound direction on Lakeville Road and as he was doing so, a vehicle made a left hand turn out of the Mobil parking lot, to proceed south on Lakeville Road, in front of the motorcyclist.
The motorcyclist put his motorcycle on the ground to avoid a collision with the vehicle that had pulled out of the parking lot. The motorcyclist did suffer non life threatening injuries as a result if the incident and was transported for treatment by Avon Ambulance.
Assisting in the investigation was Sheriff’s Road Patrol Captain Norm Zeh, Deputy Bryan Mann of the Forensic Identification Unit, Deputy Michael Wade, The East Avon Fire Department and Avon EMS.
Sheriff Dougherty reminds motorists that with the warmer weather, please be observant for motorcycles and use extra caution.
