AVON — The Village of Avon, especially the lower parts along the Genesee River, were decimated by flash flooding this Sunday.
The storm, which came crashing through the Valley at approximately 3:30 p.m. left roads closed, homes flooded and fire departments scrambling to pump water out of flooded homes.
Early estimates are that Avon go crushed with 4 inches of rain in 20 minutes.
“This is much worse then last year,” said John Barrett, Village of Avon Superintendent of Public Works.
