The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office recovers the body of the jet skier missing since Saturday.
On June 23, 2022 at approximately 08:00 a.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office SCUBA and Marine Units
located a deceased man in Lake Ontario near Durand Beach. The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office
positively identified the individual as Onofhil “Tony” Nieves. Mr. Nieves has been missing since Saturday,
when he was last seen operating a jet ski in Lake Ontario. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Mr. Nieves’
family and friends during this difficult time. MCSO Crime Victims Specialists, in collaboration with F.I.T.,
continue to support the family of Mr. Nieves.
