Missing Child Found in Mt. Morris

MT. MORRIS – A child missing from the Buffalo area was found in Mt. Morris Wednesday night, and her mother is facing charges.

According to a press release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, 32 year old Stephanie Cornay Adams of Alexandria, Virginia, had fled her father’s Buffalo home with her 6-year-old daughter in tow.  Adams’s father told police a court order barred her from taking her daughter out of New York State.

Shortly after a missing child alert was sent out, Deputy Stephanie Schroeder located Adams’s vehicle on Route 36, with Adams and her daughter inside.

The two were returned to Buffalo, where Adams will face criminal contempt and custodial interference charges.  The girl was returned to her father.
