Millions Of Viewers Watch 75 Year Old Pushed By Policeman

National attention was brought when a Buffalo police officer pushed a 75-year-old man who upon falling appears to have stuck his head hard on the concrete.  The Buffalo Police Department suspended two officers without pay and began an Internal Affairs investigation, according to a police official and a department spokesman.

Meanwhile Governor Cuomo tweeted, “This incident is wholly unjustified and utterly disgraceful.  Police officers must enforce – NOT ABUSE – the law.”

“It sickens me,” Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said of the WBFO video which can readily be seen on YouTube.

The incident occurred when police, dressed in full tactical gear ended attempted to clear the street in front of City Hall.

“The video was deeply disturbing and the actions taken were wrong,” Sen. Chuck Schumer said in a statement. “We need a prompt investigation and full accountability.”
