LIVINGSTON COUNTY— A Nunda man, charged for his involvement in a string of residential burglaries, has pled guilty to third-degree burglary.
Brian Mehlenbacher, 33, was arrested along with Heather Hoffman, 30, in November 2012, for a series of burglaries in the West Sparta area. Mehlenbacher appeared with his attorney, Andrew Emborsky, in front of Judge Dennis S. Cohen.
Judge Cohen sentenced the defendant to 1 ½ – 4 ½ years in the Willard Drug Treatment Center, expressing his desire that Mehlenbacher “move on and become a productive adult” following his release.
Ms. Hoffman, who, according to ADA Victor Rowcliffe, was a former substitute teacher in Livingston County, also pled guilty to third degree burglary in February 2013.
UPDATE: Mehlenbacher will first have an attempt at redemption through Willard Treatment Facility. if he fails the 90 day prgram he will then serve jail time, otherwise he will go to parole.
