LIVINGSTON COUNTY — A historical election has now come to a close and Livingston County has the first Democratic Party DA since before the time of President Lincoln.
District Attorney Greg McCaffrey won with 45 percent of the vote defeating ERic Schiner who had 36 percent of the vote and Steve Sessler who had 18 percent of the vote.
In the other elections in Livingston County Bill Nojay won the New York State Assembly seat for the county and Chris Collins defeated Cathy Hochul in the United States Congressional race.
In a press release Cathy Hochul stated: Early this morning I called Chris Collins and congratulated him on being elected to Congress. I encouraged him to work across the aisle and offered to assist him in any way I can. I also volunteered to help him make a smooth transition in January to ensure our constituents are well served. Congress can do better, and the people of this country deserve better than what Washington has given them.
