Dansville Police confirmed that an arrest has been made, and that basic legal procedures must take place before the suspect’s identity can be released.
“The DA told me he was quite convinced they would find the guy,” said Isaman, who was clearly grateful that the DA had sat with him for over an hour discussing the case. “I’ve had so many interviews over the past week, with Sheriff Deputies the Saturday it happened, Dansville Police, and the County District Attorney. I gave them what I could, like telling them my credit card was for Qwik-Fill, and giving them good fingerprints from a beer can that I never touched.”
Isaman says he has been to the hospital for examination and a CAT scan, and no bones were broken despite his eye being completely swollen shut from bruising. He says the past week has been full of interviews and visits from complete strangers, which he enjoys very much.
“I’m 90-years-old, and I don’t look my age, sometimes don’t act it either,” said Isaman. “Last Tuesday my eye opened back up and I can see good now. I’ve been around a long time and try to be nice to people, that’s why I got in trouble with this geezer. In the last week I’ve had 28 phone calls, which is a real blessing. One girl, a senior in high school who I don’t know and who doesn’t know me, brought me Christmas cookies. You always need the valleys in life to enjoy the peaks.”
