GENESEO – A minor accident on Main Street disrupted traffic for about half an hour Friday afternoon in Geneseo. Though a Livingston County Sheriff vehicle, two cars from the Geneseo Police Department, and a fire engine and ambulances from Geneseo Fire and EMS partially blocked Main Street and University drive for that time, neither of the collided vehicles were badly damaged.
At about 3:30p.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ford Explorer allegedly collided near the intersection of Main Street and University Drive. Sirens and police lights drew concerned eyes as rescue and law enforcement checked the victims for injuries and briefly investigated the scene.
“Traffic was held up for a good half hour,” said Emily Ashworth, 21. “There were two ambulances and two cops.”
At least two small children were apparently inside one of the vehicles. Two young children walked away from the incident unharmed, and family members apparently retrieved a car seat from one of the vehicles before fire and EMS crews left the scene.
The left headlight on the Explorer was broken, and the Grand Cherokee’s rear bumper was dented.
