Local Soldier Angela King-Sweigart Makes Lieutenant Colonel

AVON – The U.S. Army National Guard promoted an 18-year military veteran with local roots to the rank of lieutenant colonel.

According to a press release from Defense Media Activity in Fort Meade, MD, Angela S. King-Sweigart is currently serving as State Public Affairs Officer with Joint Force Headquarters, Fort Indiantown Gap, PA.

King-Sweigart is the daughter of Norma King of Avon and Ronald King of The Villages, FL.

She married Nelson Sweigart and is the mother of Samantha Sweigart.

Her family lives all over the country. Her sister Andrea Kukol, lives in Penfield, NY, and her sister Laura Peritore lives in Kekaha, Hawaii. Her parents-in-law Gary and Linda Kohr live in Cornwall, PA.

She graduated in 1995 from Fairport High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in 2001 from the University of Buffalo, Buffalo, NY.
