CONESUS – Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Livonia, NY man on felony charges after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. On November 26, 2018 Livingston County Sheriff’s Investigators arrested 51 year old Mark C. Harrington and charged him with felony Predatory Sexual Assault of a Child. It is alleged through investigation that Harrington had sexual contact with a child under the age of thirteen years old between the years of 2007 and 2012.
Harrington was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in
regards to bail due to the felony level charge and it was advised that Harrington was to be held without bail per the NYS Criminal Procedure Law due to the charge being a class A-II
felony.
Harrington was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC- CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Livonia Justice Margaret Graf-Linsner. The Judge remanded Harrington to the custody of the Sheriff being held without the chance of bail. Harrington will be held for further court proceedings.
Handling the investigation from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division were Investigator Gene Chichester, Investigator Brad Schneider, and Investigator Josh Monster.
The investigation was coordinated with Child Protective Services from Livingston and Ontario County and the Livingston County District Attorney’s Office.
