LIVINGSTON COUNTY — The Livingston County Department of Health announced that the Cancer Services Program of Livingston/Wyoming Counties won the Community Partnership award.
The Cancer Services Program received the award for increasing the awareness of the importance of cancer screening. Colleen Schiedel, Cancer Services Program Coordinator, accepted the award on Sept. 15 at the Relay for Life event held in Dansville.
“Screening for Cancer is the best way to reduce new cancer cases and reduce death associated with cancers. Screenings for cervical, colorectal, and breast cancer help to find these cancers at an early and treatable stage,” said Joan H. Ellison, Public Health Director.
The Livingston County Department of Health and the Livingston/Wyoming Cancer Services Program encourages everyone to get cancer screenings.
