The Varsity Hockey season is off to a fast start. Now that NYSPHSAA has approved ‘high risk” sports the Livingston Lakers have started. The Lakers are a consolidated team of players from Livonia, Geneseo and Avon.
With SUNY Geneseo Ice Arena closed to outside teams the Lakers are using Bill Grays, Canandaigua, and Lakeshore as home ice. On February 9th, The Livingston Lakers played Canadaigua Acddemy in a tough 6 to 4 loss. Three (Hat trick) goals by Michael Walton and one by Christain Rumfola kept the Lakers in the game but an open net goal by Canandaigua sealed the game. On February 11, The Livingston Lakers played Notre Dame Batavia is a tough 12 to 4 loss. Four goals by Co-Captain Michael Walton showed the Lakers can score against an elite school.
Next up The Lakers will play against Aquinas Institute at Lakeshore Ice Arena on Saturday February 13th.
