LIVINGSTON COUNTY – The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office announced a crackdown on DWI on New Year’s Eve.
According to Livingston County STOP DWI Coordinator Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Avon Police, Caledonia Police, Dansville Police, Geneseo Police, Mount Morris Police and Nunda Police will have additional patrols to remove intoxicated or drug impaired drivers from Livingston County roadways.
“Some people think County Deputies or local Officers are the fun police and against people having a good time,” said Dougherty. “I can tell you here in Livingston County we are all for you going out and enjoying yourself. We just ask that if you choose to booze, you do it responsibly. There is nothing good about people getting hurt or killed due to drunk driving.”
The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who plans to drink on New Year’s to plan a sober ride home.
