The Livingston County Office of Workforce Development will host a job fair on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021, from 4-6 p.m. in the County Government Center at 6 Court Street in Geneseo.
The event will feature more than 20 local employers offering job seekers over 200 different positions in a wide variety of fields. Companies such as Barilla America NY Inc., Isaac Heating & Air Conditioning, Sabin Metal Corporation, and SUNY Geneseo will be among those attending the event, said Office of Workforce Development Director Ryan Snyder.
“With enhanced unemployment benefits recently ending, we expect many will be looking to re-enter the workforce,” he said. “Employee shortages have led employers to raise wages, increase job flexibility, and lower experiential requirements, making this a perfect time for job seekers to explore new employment opportunities.”
For the best chance at securing a job offer, Snyder stressed the importance of building rapport through face-to-face meetings with local hiring managers at in-person events like this.
“Today especially, much of the application process is completed virtually. Making eye contact and showing confidence through body language could be what set an applicant apart from their peers,” explained Snyder.
