A Livingston County Jail inmate is being charged with felony Criminal Mischief charges after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. It is alleged that on October 28, 2020, inmate Darnell L. Curry, age 27 formerly of Buffalo NY, repeatedly punched and kicked a cell door causing the glass to break.
Sheriff’s Investigator Connor Sanford arrested and charged Curry with felony Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree. The charge is a felony as the amount of the damage exceeded $250.
Curry was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and issued an appearance ticket for the charge as the offense did not qualify for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act.
Curry, who is being held on federal charges, remains remanded and housed at the Livingston County Jail.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Criminal Investigations Division, Jail Division, and Forensic Identification Unit (FIU).
